Why I Choose Azure Standard for My Family & Homestead

Azure Standard is one of my most trusted sources for high-quality, bulk, and organic products. I place an order every month, and some staples make it into my cart every single time. Here’s why I rely on Azure Standard:

Faith-Based, High-Quality Standards

  • Azure Standard was founded on faith, and they apply biblical principles like field rotation and giving the land a Sabbath rest.
  • They offer biblically clean, kosher, and all-natural products, so I never have to compromise my convictions when shopping.

Clean, Organic, & Health-Conscious Choices

  • Their products are free from artificial ingredients, chemicals, and dyes—something I deeply appreciate as I navigate autoimmune and ADHD concerns within my family.

Convenient Bulk Purchasing

  • Azure Standard provides a one-stop shop for high-quality, bulk, and organic products, making it easy to stock my pantry and homestead with the best options available.

I’ve embedded a video showcasing one of my many Azure Standard unboxings. You can find even more on my Vintage Virtues with Jen YouTube page—don’t forget to like, subscribe, and give a thumbs-up when you watch! Be sure to check out our other Azure Standard videos as well.

The list below highlights my Top 20, most-purchased items along with honest reviews—including a few that didn’t quite meet expectations. From pantry staples and baking essentials to dairy, meats, fresh produce, and homesteading must-haves, this list covers it all!

My Most Purchased & Favorite Azure Standard Products

🥖 Pantry Staples & Baking Essentials

  • All-Purpose Organic Unbleached Flour – This flour is incredibly light and fluffy, making it ideal for airy or flaky baked goods. I use it to make moist cakes, flaky biscuits, fresh hamburger buns, and the softest challah bread. It’s also a key ingredient for my daughter’s sourdough bread.
  • Baking Soda – A whole pound of this is just $3.26, and I find myself ordering it every couple of months. It’s an essential staple for all our baking needs.
  • Cornmeal – This cornmeal is perfectly coarse-milled, making it the ideal choice for battering fish fillets, making hush puppies, and baking southern cornbread.
  • Small Elbow Pasta – Another staple in our home. We use it for healthier homemade macaroni and cheese and for making our own hamburger helpers, which is so much more cost-effective than buying the small store-bought boxes!

Storage Consideration

To ensure pantry items stay fresh and bug-free, we opt for airtight storage. Since we buy flour in 25 lb bags, we store it in a bucket with a gamma lid. Azure Standard sells these storage options. For the other items, we choose Azure Standard’s half-gallon size or smaller mason jars. We use a super handy mason jar sealer to create an airtight seal. This item is a must-have! Watch it in action.

🧀 Dairy & Refrigerated Must-Haves

  • Raw Cheddar – This traditional white cheddar made from raw milk is absolutely delicious. We buy a 5 lb block every month and use it in almost anything that calls for cheese. It’s incredibly versatile – shredded, sliced, melted for grilled cheese, sprinkled on tacos, baked into casseroles, or enjoyed as a snack. This is a must-have in our kitchen.
  • Beef Bacon – We made the switch from traditional pork bacon to alternatives like turkey and beef, and this beef bacon is fantastic. It’s hickory-smoked, brisket-cut, with the texture and saltiness of country ham. Perfect as a breakfast meat, in a pot of greens or beans, or added to your favorite dishes. Check out my review of it alongside butters here.
  • Andouille Sausage – This smoked, all-beef sausage (with no pork casing) is a great addition to any recipe that calls for sausage links, like sausage and peppers, one-pot pasta, and more.

🥦 Fresh Produce & Canned Goods

  • French Style Green Beans – In the summer, when green beans are plentiful, we like to can them ourselves. But our family eats them faster than I can preserve them, so we also purchase these organic French-style green beans from Azure Standard. Priced at about $1.71 per can, they’re more affordable than organic options at the grocery store.
  • Whole Kernel Corn – We always keep sweet, canned corn on hand for emergencies. We buy these in three-packs each month. It’s a great organic option to have in the pantry.
  • Olives –While I’m not an olive fan, my husband and son love them, so I keep a stash for their half of the pizza, Greek pasta salads, as a nacho topper, and sometimes as a snack for my son. The cans are the perfect size for a single portion.
  • Fruit & Veggie Box – The fruit and veggie box is one of my top purchases. However, here’s my HONEST review. I used to buy it monthly, and while most of the produce arrived in good condition, we did have to request a refund for some spoiled items, like cucumbers and zucchini. The company was quick to issue a refund when I reported the issue. Because the produce travels from the West Coast to the East Coast in a refrigerated truck, it sometimes isn’t as fresh as I’d like. This isn’t a reflection of the company, but rather a result of the long-distance shipping. I’ve since decided to buy fresh produce locally or grow what I can myself, relying more on Azure Standard’s canned and frozen fruit and vegetables to supplement my supply.
  • Ginger – I LOVE ginger, and this purchase gives me plenty of it! I grew up on Arroz con Pollo stewed in ginger broth. I use grated ginger in Asian dishes and sliced ginger as a flavorful addition to tea. This is a great purchase!

🌾 Whole Grains & Pasta Alternatives

  • Millet & Brown Rice Ramen – These are a fantastic whole grain alternative to the ultra-processed ramen noodles. Simply make your own delicious broth, drop these in, and cook for just 4 minutes! Each package contains four ramen squares.
  • Soft White Wheat Berries – In the past few months, I’ve started milling my own wheat berries to make fresh-milled flour. I’m still learning the skills and recipe conversions for using fresh flour, and here’s my HONEST review. I’ve been buying all of my wheat berries from Azure Standard and have tried hard red wheat, hard white wheat, and soft white wheat berries. Soft white wheat has become my favorite due to its softer texture when milled and its versatility in recipes. It’s now one of my top purchases from Azure. However, I did run into an issue with my most recent order. The last batch of soft white wheat berries arrived with debris, which looked like vetch seed, and many of the berries appeared unhulled. I found that others had the same issue with this particular batch. All of the other grains were perfectly fine. I contacted Azure Standard, and they promptly refunded my 5 lb package. I had planned to buy 25 lbs in my next order since they’re priced remarkably low at around $16, compared to competitors’ prices of $40-$60. Unfortunately, soft white wheat berries are currently out of stock on the site. I trust the company is working to resolve the issue. This is not a reflection on the company or their grains – I believe this is a limited issue.

🥜 Oils, Condiments, & Specialty Items

  • Avocado Oil – Our family primarily uses avocado oil, olive oil, and butter for most of our fats. I’ve found the avocado oil from Azure to be of good quality and reasonably priced. For that reason, it’s a regular in our order. I really should start buying it in larger quantities for even better savings.
  • Chicken Gravy – These little packs of chicken gravy are so convenient. I use them in a staple pressure cooker chicken and rice meal. They make a great quality meal starter for busy nights.
  • Azure Premium Coffee – This has become my favorite coffee. I buy one or two bags with every order. It’s bold, smooth, and unlike most coffees, it doesn’t give me heartburn. It’s organic, well-balanced, and medium-bodied—a real crowd-pleaser. Check out my review at the end of the featured Azure Unboxing video at the top of this article.
  • Tamari – I switched to tamari (and coconut aminos) a decade ago when I first tried going gluten-free. I prefer the flavor of tamari over standard soy sauce in all my Asian sauces.

🐔 Homesteading & Pet Essentials

  • Cluckin’ Good Grubs – These are a definite favorite for my chickens! While I can’t personally vouch for the taste, the ladies waste no time rushing over for them. They’re priced at around $9.89 per pound. I like to switch between these and Grub Terra’s Soldier Fly Larvae, which cost $9.99 per pound.
  • Half Gallon Canning Jars – An absolute essential! I use them to store everything from liquids to dry goods like flour, oats, sugar, and more. When not in use, they’re also perfect for emergency water storage. Don’t forget to grab a mason jar sealer to keep your dried goods fresh for longer.

Honest Feedback: What Didn’t Meet Expectations & Why

Soft White Wheat Berries

  • Issue: I ordered 5 lbs of soft white wheat berries, but they arrived mostly unhulled and contained vetch (tiny black seeds). Typically, the wheat berries are very clean, hulled, and free of debris. While some imperfections are expected with natural agricultural products, this was unusual.
  • Resolution: I contacted Azure Standard with details and included a photo of the product. They responded promptly and issued a full refund. I also noticed that the soft white wheat berries were no longer available for purchase on their site, suggesting they took immediate action on quality control.
  • Recommendation: Although I was disappointed with the condition of this particular order, I appreciated their responsive customer service and swift resolution. None of the other grains I’ve purchased have had this issue, and their pricing remains excellent. I would still recommend Azure Standard.

Fruit & Veggie Box

  • Issue: In one of my first few boxes, the cucumbers I received were pretty spoiled, with black fuzzy mold spots and a slimy texture. The zucchini were also nearly spoiled. However, the rest of the fruits and vegetables in the box were in good condition.
  • Resolution: I contacted the company, and they responded quickly with an apology. They credited me 20% of the box’s price, which amounted to a $12.72 credit applied to my account. I felt this was a fair response.
  • Recommendation: I believe the issue with delicate items like zucchini and cucumbers is due to the long journey from the West Coast to the East Coast in a refrigerated truck. Since these are natural products, they are more vulnerable to spoilage due to time and temperature sensitivity. I still order some fresh items but avoid the mixed box format. Instead, I opt for heartier options like root vegetables, as well as frozen and canned varieties, while purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables locally. This experience hasn’t diminished my opinion of the company.

Why I Keep Shopping at Azure Standard

  • Customer Service: Based on my experiences, Azure Standard has proven to be a fair and reliable company when it comes to handling issues and resolutions. Their customer service is prompt, kind, courteous, and fair. Reaching them through their website or email is also straightforward and hassle-free.
  • Bulk Savings: The cost savings they offer are impressive. The larger the bulk quantity, the more you save. They also feature monthly sales on a variety of items, making it even more budget-friendly.
  • Fits the Homesteading Lifestyle: I appreciate that Azure Standard offers a wide range of all-natural and organic products — some of which are hard to find in retail stores. Their commitment to being a biblically clean company is also important to me, as it assures me of the quality and integrity of their products. If something isn’t right, they’ve demonstrated a willingness to resolve issues fairly. I love the variety they offer for homesteading and naturally-minded homes. I just placed my largest Azure order yet, so stay tuned for a future review!
