My Current Reading List and Upcoming Reads
Are you ready to embark on a literary journey? Join me as I share my current reading list and upcoming reads. But first, I’m curious – do you prefer immersing yourself in one book at a time, or do you juggle multiple reads concurrently? Let’s dive into the captivating world of books together!
Currently Reading
- Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes by E. Randolph Richards and Brandon J. O’Brien: delves into the impact of cultural differences on interpreting the Bible. As I progress through the book, I’m already recognizing instances where I’ve misunderstood certain passages due to my culturally American perspective.
- What the Bible Says About Healthy Living by Rex Russell: A compelling book that explores the link between biblical teachings and healthy lifestyle choices. Although it was written in the 90s, it remains relevant today, mirroring the Bible’s timeless guidance on healthy living. I have found it to be an intriguing read so far. The author adeptly illustrates the advantages of the principles already outlined in scripture, in a manner relevant to any audience, without being legalistic.
To-Read
- The Anxiety Opportunity by Edy Chang: I’ve already delved into the first couple of chapters and found the premise relatable, with practical real-life applications. It’s definitely on my to-finish reading list. The premise revolves around embracing anxiety as an opportunity for growth and self-discovery, with practical real-life applications that readers can relate to, all from a Christian perspective.
- Bible Prophecy: The Essentials and Revealing Revelation by Amir Tsarfati: I received these as Christmas gifts, although they weren’t my personal selections. I tend to be selective about prophecy and Revelation-related literature. However, I’ve recently been engaging with Amir’s coverage of the war in Israel, as well as some of his sermons and interviews. So far, his consistent utilization of scripture to explain various topics has piqued my interest. Therefore, I believe these books may have some merit, but I’m not yet ready to recommend them just yet.
- The Boy Who Followed His Father to Auschwitz by Jeremy Dronfield: This book has been on my reading list for quite some time. The book chronicles the true story of Gustav and his son Fritz, who clung to each other for survival amid the horrors of the Holocaust.
- 100 Days of Real Food by Lisa Leake: I will probably get to this book a lot sooner than the others, as it’s a recipe book containing 100 recipes to accompany a 100-day challenge of consuming real, wholesome, and nutritious food.
